1. How many hours can the service last with a body with eutectic plates?
As soon as the system obtain the total solidification of the eutectic solution, the service with eutectic plates can operate for the whole standard multidrop delivery time ( standards are about 40 to 60 drops ). Depending on the operations of the delivery you can even expect to reach 80 drops without any system recharge.
The first time that the body is connected to the electric plant, the unit must run for at least twenty hours in order to obtain the total solidification of the eutectic solution, while for the recharge between a service and the other 6 to 8 hours are enough.
After the recharge period, if the unit was stopped by the thermostat, the ambient temperature inside the body is of
about –35°C. Consequently the delivery service starts with such a temperature, when going back to the deposit after the tour the inside temperature is of about -20°C.
The low temperature (-35°C) eutectic refrigerated bodies are the ideal way to deliver ice cream, frozen vegetables
and meats, frozen pastries and frozen ready dishes. The refrigerated bodies at positive temperature (0/+4°C) can be used for the delivery of dairy products, meat, fresh pastries, juices, etc.
When the body is studied we can foresee to produce a body with two or more operating temperatures: the body will be divided in different compartments that will have a fixed temperature (low at –35°C, positive at 0/+4°C or isothermal i.e. without refrigeration).
From a comparative study with blown air refrigerating units (like Carrier or Thermo King) we have learnt that the refrigerated bodies with eutectic plates need up to 60% less maintenance than the blown air type systems.
During the delivery service the unit is not running consequently there are no polluting emissions, the refrigerating plant is studied in order to have high output during the recharging period so to have low electric consumption. The high insulating capacity of the body reduces the cold dispersion, and consequently the recharging period is shorter. No, our technical department is able to produce the body only by having the technical drawing of the chassis cab with the indication of the brand, model and wheelbase.
Most of the time this installation is provide by Asycold.
The bodies are always equipped with a sub-frame that matches to the chassis cab’s frame, consequently the fitting operation is quite simple.
It is necessary a crane to lift the body. After having placed the body on the chassis cab, the connecting bolts and the electric cables need to be connect to the switch of the inner lights.
